The snow goose (Chen caerulescens) is a plump, white bird with red feet and legs and a pink bill. Large flocks visit Chesapeake Bay marshes, wetlands and farm fields in winter, feeding on marsh grass, clover and grains. Flocks fly in long, diagonal or V-shaped patterns, and the birds can be identified in flight by their white bodies and dark wingtips.
