This is a snowmobile event during New Year’s Eve at the City Hall Plaza.
It was bad enough that I have missed a lot of stuff since I got their late but if only I was inside the gate, a lot of my shooting would have looked much better since I was in a very awkward position. I still could have at least moved to a better spot. To make matters worse the auto focusing wasn't always decent. I obviously could have used the manual focusing but having gloves on while trying to keep the GH1 stable might have made matters worse.
I wasn’t the only person their trying to get footage using a professional still camera. As you’ll see in the video, their was a person using a Canon 5D Mark II. Never mind that fact that their were people using cheap digicams. It’s amazing how things have changed over the years.
The camera was set to intelligent Auto and I shot this on 720 60p and I also exported this edited piece to 720 60p to preserve the picture quality. In part 2, for the autograph signing, I exported it to 720 30p.
I used Adobe Premiere CS4 to edit both parts.
