MECP has partnered with the Department of Justice’s Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (CFBNP) to host a three-part webinar series for faith-based and non-profit organizations on developing sustainable programs. In 2012, the CFBNP published Faith and Communities in Action: A Resource Guide for Increasing Partnership Opportunities to Prevent Crime and Violence, a resource guide for faith-based and non-profit organizations on developing sustainable programs. Each webinar in this series will feature the authors of this guide and will offer attendees information on strategies and best practices for improving partnerships, building capacity, and effectively applying for and managing grants.
To begin this series, January’s webinar, A Partnership Approach to Program Sustainability, is presented by Jonathan Cloud. This webinar will give participants specific knowledge and tools to sustain their programs through partnerships with public, private, civic, religious, business, and other sectors. Mr. Cloud will discuss the importance of developing an organizational network through collaboration, cooperation, and coordination to produce a sustainable community-wide strategy. He will provide an overview of the guiding principles of developing partnerships, the phases to building or restructuring partnerships, and offer examples for developing your own partnership sustainability plan.
