My neighbor Curt and I ride up Hinkle Gulch Rd. which leads to the 4-digit BLM roads on Tallowbox Mt. This is in our neighborhood, tuning off the pavement about 10 minutes from home. The unusual thing is being able to do this in January. With elevations over 4,000 ft. these roads should snow-covered this time of year; a reflexion of the fact that S. Oregon is far short of normal precipitation this winter. Hopefully wetter days are coming and we'll be closer to a more normal water year as spring approaches.
