In November 2013, Northern Ireland played host to the regional premiere of Hitchcock's classic, Psycho LIVE. This concert event showcased the original 1960 B&W movie with Bernard Herrmann's legendary score played with the film by live orchestra, simultaneously. Renowned conductor, Richard Kaufman was the man responsible for keeping the Ulster Orchestra on their toes and conducted 2 concerts. One in Londonderry and the other in Belfast. During the first day of rehearsal, Cinemagic students were invited to watch the orchestra and Richard play the music. One of Hollywood's leading orchestrators, Patrick Russ participated in a Cinemagic Film Music Workshop for students aged between 15 and 24 with Richard and I.
All of this was captured on film brilliantly by Danny Brown. Happy viewing!
