I was tasked by the agency Helios to create software for a three-screen, 5760x1080, 60fps 3D installation used at the Emirates Airlines U.S. Open Tournament in 2012 and 2013. Using Adobe Air and Away3D 4, this display pulled photos from a Flickr account which featured attendees of the event appearing via green screen in front of a destination of their choice. The photos then flew through the clouds for them and everyone else to view. Occasionally, a bit of branding would animate on and off screen. The installation had to be stable enough to run for hours on end without assistance, so memory management and unit testing was incredibly important on this one.
