Once the coat is cut in cloth the cutter or striker then "trims the job", adding the lining, canvas, haircloth, domette, shoulder pads, collar canvas & Melton, buttons etc, everything a 'bench made' tailor or coat maker needs to create the piece.
"Bench made" refers to a tailor who makes a complete garment verse a production tailor who makes a section of the finished garment.
