Sedona is a magical oasis surrounded by red-rock monoliths named Coffeepot, Cathedral and Thunder Mountain. This stunning array of red sandstone formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. At the north end of the city is the stunning Oak Creek Canyon, a breathtaking chasm that is wildly wonderful. Nestled in the Verde Valley, this was home to the Native American Yavapai and Apache tribes. Antelope Canyon, two hours north of Sedona is on Navajo land and includes two separate, photogenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as Upper Antelope Canyon or The Crack; and Lower Antelope Canyon or The Corkscrew. These are the most photographed slot canyons in the American Southwest. It’s been said that it’s impossible to take a bad photograph in Arizona, and we have to agree. In addition to these two gems are the wonders of Lake Powell, Horseshoe Canyon and of course, the Grand Canyon.
