It's Chinese New Years! Got my SLR Magic Anamorphot just in time to get all the celebrations: Food, festivals, and Lion Dances! I walked around getting footage with my Canon 5D mkIII using Magic Lantern's RAW Hack. The SLR Magic Anamorphot is very sharp and it is easy to use.
This is the night footage. I also shot comparisons between the SLR Magic Anamorphot and Panasonic LA7200. You can see that the Panasonic has more "smearing" near the left and right edges of the frame. This gets worse the longer the lens. Even at 50mm you can see it slightly. By 135mm it is clear the edges are smeared. The SLR Magic Anamorphot is clean and has a much better image. However, legacy lenses like the Jupiter lenses need to be at a smaller aperture, F4 or F5.6 for sharpness. Most shots were at F2.8, F4 for the Jupiter 9 and Jupiter 11.
