Your donations help the Heart & Stroke Foundation create survivors. One of these survivors is award wining journalist and playwright Michael Posner. Despite having a strong family legacy of heart disease, Michael found out in quite a surprising way that he had a heart condition. Within a matter of days Michael went from having no knowledge of any major heart issues, to lying on a surgery table getting triple bypass surgery. Breakthrough science -- like recent genome mapping that discovered over 84,000 DNA sequences influencing heart disease and stroke -- would be impossible without Foundation funding. Advances like these may be used to then be quickly applied to directly save and enrich lives. Better funding will deepen our expertise on familial heart disease, enabling faster diagnosis and better treatment for the thousands of lives at risk
