Welcome to the New Grand Narrative Artist Profiles, a series of sweet little vids we shot with some of our Kickstart artists about their projects and what inspired them.
Based around our festival theme, New Grand Narrative, the videos are just little taste of what’s to come in the lead up to festival launch.
Our second profile comes from theatre maker Brienna Macnish. Here, Brienna unpacks the experiences of ageing Australians in her intimate, one-on-one audio theatre work HOME. Over 18 months and countless cups of tea, Brienna has interviewed a range of ageing Melbournians to hear their stories and ask the unspoken questions: what it is like to grow old in Australia today? How do you cope with loss – of loved ones and your own independence? What happens when have to leave home? When you have no choice.
