are seeking partners to support the development of the Cyrano project – an exciting theatre and live music collaboration with French hip-hop / ‘musette’ songwriter R.Wan, formerly of the band Java. The Salvos’ Cyrano cuts and pastes the French text of Rostand’s swashbuckling love story with the company’s own translation, and explores the overlap between Rostand’s extemporising poet and our own interest in improvisation.

The production also splices Cartoon de Salvo’s own story into that of Rostand’s hero, to more intimately explore the play’s themes of spirit, integrity, disobedience and refusal to compromise.

Cyrano is directed by Alex Murdoch (Kneehigh, National Theatre Wales, Young Vic), and designed by Michael Vale (RSC, National, Told by an Idiot, Kneehigh). It is performed by Alex Murdoch, Neil Haigh and Brian Logan. Initial development has been supported by Shoreditch Town Hall and Arts Council England.

We are looking for partners to make this project happen. If you’re interested, please contact Lucy Moore
