Used the HDMI output of the Sony A1U into a Blackmagic capture card on a 2009 MacPro using a BlackMagic capture pre-set for the Apple Pro-Res HQ codec, thereby utilizing the 4:2:2 color space. This allowed me to pull a clean chroma key in FCP. Ended up also creating a travel matte to clean up the key and extensive masking around the talent's heels.
Bypassing the HDV circuitry in the camera and using the HDMI is what allowed the clean key from an HDV format camera.
The virtual white room was created in Apple's Motion and the compositing was a keyframe party.
