The Eco-house Initiative is a multi-disciplinary charitable organisation working on sustainable, low-cost housing solutions for developing countries. Engage was approached by the Eco-House Initiative with a view to gaining a high-level review of its initial housing designs before presenting them to Arup for a full project review.
This was an exciting new project for Engage, as it allowed us to start rebranding as a strategic consultancy and fundraising platform. As a part of our services toolkit we are offering in-house skills and expertise, giving high-level feedback on conceptual designs for prospective projects. The idea is that we point out a project’s general strengths and weaknesses before it is taken to a detailed design level.
In the case of the Eco-house Initiative, Engage reviewed the project in terms of its water strategy, sustainability and structural design. We got good feedback from the Eco-house Initiative team, who found our work to be highly useful. This has encouraged us to expand the service, offering a full project review to more engineering teams.
