I shot some test footage for a project i've been working on in Central Park. I wanted to capture the real people who use the park every day as their place of recreation and self expression, instead of the nostalgic and cliche images of the park one often comes across.
I shot it on an EX1 Sony at 1080p 24fps. I'm kicking myself now for not shooting at 60fps and then dropping it into a 24fps timeline to slow it down, instead of having to do it in FCP.
It was a pretty overcast day, so color correction was done in FCP to bump up saturation.
There is a real grace and spiritual beauty in the park that i think is often missed by tourists and residents alike. It's not until you slow down and really take in just a small part of the park at a time that you see it.
