On February 1, 2014, Pine Crest Mock Trial competed in Florida's Annual Mock Trial Competition at the Broward County Courthouse. The team, represented by Arjun Padmanabhan, Brooke Olefson and Brooke Bekoff, presented a criminal case before Broward Criminal Judges Andrew Siegel and Michelle Tobin-Singer, as well as a number of prestigious criminal and civil attorneys from Broward, Palm Beach and Dade Counties.
After two trials, PCMT scored high enough to advance to the final round of competition. This week, they will find out the results of the last round, and whether they will move on to represent the 17th Judicial Circuit at the State Competition in Tallahassee later this month.
Other members of PCMT included Erica Kosches, Kobi Kassal, Amanda Soares, Devyn Simon, Brittany Shore, and Isabella Christensen. PCMT is coached by Pine Crest teacher Lindsay Bass, Esq. and Richard William Barner, III, Esq.
Whether they win or not, it was PCMT's highest finish to date and they should be very proud of their accomplishments!
