Using the International Electrotechnical Commission 60417 graphical standard for "on"/"off" power symbols as a structural model, this video is part of a larger series that connects the fundamentality of technical thinking—the binary computational system—to issues of identity, sex, and performative gender in society.

Humanity inherently divides its world: splitting and pitting elements against each other in attempts at understanding and identification. The Binary is a structure so fundamental to our nature that it gilds and stains nearly every aspect of our aesthetic existence, serving as symbolic representations of power, sex, gender, and even the basis of digital computation technologies.

The Binary's fundamentality does not make its conceptual hegemony a necessity.

Every aesthetic is a logic, but not every logic is an aesthetic.
