In order to illustrate on-going partnerships between European and African scientists and stakeholders, a short movie is proposed with a focus on agriculture, water and climate change in Africa.
By including a Kenyan example in strengthening of African capacities in the use of remote sensing for agriculture and forestry management - through the on-going AGRICAB project, one of the Africa-related projects that VITO’s Remote Sensing Unit is currently active in - the documentary captures nicely the added value and complementarity of remote sensing as technology for Africa’s sustainable development.
This video is intended to support the dissemination of on-going international research cooperation with Africa within the 7th Framework Programme and highlight possible trends that might be of interest to Horizon 2020. The projects presented in the documentary have received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007/2013).
