The collective work process resulting in Spuw (Spit) was a joint venture and an adventure. An older poet and biologist, afraid of the loss of landscape, a filmmaker damaging super 8 film to emphasize its beauty, a video artist, playing with older meanings of film, creating a new one. We enhanced the quality of b/w super 8 by digitally delaying the material. Colour and animation added to the film gave the anonymous water an identity. Because of this graphical approach to film, Spuw is considered painting of movement. Spuw is about the possible loss of the historical landscape, and in that sense also an ecological film.
