David Livingston—The state of private higher education and its possible future-David Livingston, Ph.D., president of Lourdes University, will discuss the state of private higher education and where it is going. Dr. Livingston began his tenure at Lourdes University in July 2013. Before coming to Northwest Ohio, David served as the vice president for advancement at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. He has written several published works including, Healing Violent Men: A Model for Christian Communities—Fortress Press. Before entering educational administration, Dr. Livingston taught religious studies at the secondary and college levels. David has over two dozen presentations to his credit and many literature reviews. He received his Ph.D. in theology from Vanderbilt University, his M.A. in theology from Loyola University of Chicago, and a B.A. in chemistry from Augustana College. Dr. Livingston was a participant in the Presidential Vocation and Institutional Mission Seminar for prospective college and university presidents sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges.
