The Southern Tas Titles is an institution in Tasmania; the competition has been run for many years with the gracious support of the Hobart City Council and Jimmy's Skate N Street heads. This was the 3rd year SbA have been involved in organizing the event, and we were amped with the turnout, with competitor numbers up from last year with at least 35 competitors!
Chloe Andrew took out the Girls with her half cab rock reverts, while Milo Langridge pipped Alex Christensen showing the most power in the 11 and Unders. Beau Kelly is proving to be unstoppable in his raw yet consistent approach, and with moves like nollie melon tweakers, it's easy to see why he took out the 14 and Unders. The coveted number 1 spot for the Opens was highly sought this year. Aaron Lister was showing promise in the qualifiers but he just fell short to Duane King and his radical tie dye'd transitional prowess and switch skills in the finals. However, it was the all terrain slaying sanctioned by Christian Rieper that proved unbeatable. The Rieper floated high above the transition on frontside variations only to hit the handrail with a beatings in continuous lines that saw him claim the Crown.
Once again, the Southern Tas Titles went off! A huge thanks to Hobart City Council for once again supporting skateboarding to the fullest in the southernmost State Capital of Australia. Props to NikeSb, Sport and Recreation Tasmania, and Jimmy's Skate N Street for supporting the Southern Tasmania Skateboard Hub all year round! Lastly, a big thanks to Hardcore who provided product from Cliche, Tensor and Andale to keep all the placers stocked up on awesome gear.
