California based menswear brand, Chapter and furniture designer, Stephen Kenn release their first collaboration collection, Parallel, for Autumn/Winter 2014. Parallel is a result of these two design disciplines both of similar mind and direction coming together to show beautifully worked materials and flawless precision. A strong sense of design and incredible craftsmanship results in thoughtfully considered accessories and furniture that are both functional and effortlessly attractive.
Made in Los Angeles, the collection is inspired by the characteristic principles of Soviet Modernism and bold interpretations of Brutalist Architecture through the simplification of form, receptive angular geometries and functional design. Materials include soft ebony calfskin leather finished with polished nickel hardware and Chapter's woven linings. On offer, styles include easy-to-carry weekender, backpack, briefcase, an oversized tote, a Dopp kit, lanyard wallet and several travel bags for electronics.
The idea behind the functionality of structure as a design feature and the sense of vastness accustomed by repetitive structural elements embody this creative collaboration for Autumn/Winter 2014.
