Across all cultures, dreams have a common motif that engage our fears of darkness, coldness and solitude. ICE is a piece that combines those different elements of dreams and strives to display those motifs through a lonely character in a world that is a swirl of the warm and cool colors that are perceived within our dreams. The cold and dark world that he is in is highlighted by warm colors that he has no part in. Through the use of a glide-cam to shooting through rain drops on the lens, the film tries to capture the surreal feeling that so many of our dreams may have by contrasting the cold and drab world with the highlights of warmth and color. A dream is essentially many different lines of thought going on as we sleep that our brain formats into one understandable linear visual story. ICE is the same thing except it is a compilation of many dreams into one visual story.
