It all begins with a small boy in a sad prison.
And then... A world of odds and ends becomes Ali Baba’s cave, a forgotten button changes into a friend, a lonely corner turns into a safe shelter.
Sometimes you only need a detail to hang on to, a touch of imagination, and there appears hope.
C’est d’abord un petit garçon dans une triste prison.
Et puis... Un monde de bric et de broc devient une caverne d’Ali-Baba, un bouton oublié se mue en compagnon, un coin de solitude se transforme en refuge.
Il suffit parfois d’un détail auquel s’accrocher, un brin d’imaginaire, et voilà que nait l’espoir.
Here is my End-of-the-Year Work. Since I was in 2D animation and Illustration I had to do at least a 72 pages illustration book or a 2 to 3 minutes animation short in 2D.
I decided to do an animation short (which appeared to last 3 minutes 46 seconds...) on a small boy who tries to escape from a very hard reality. Therefore he uses his imagination to recreate a better world, in his mind at least, to keep shelter from these atrocities.
It was projected at "Namur fait son Cinéma" in Namur, and it was selected for the belgian movie festival of Moustier (http://cinemabelge.be/programme-court-metrages/). Here is the synopsis in french and english :
