For this performance, On the first Valentine's Day post 9/11, I set up a booth on the corner of 22nd & 10 Ave in Chelsea, New York City and sold American Flags($.25), plastic flowers($.25), authentic Felix Gonzales Torrez candies($1.25). I also read Rumi($.75) love poems. I dressed up as my idish alter-ego the Adenoid. The piece was a direct response to the patriotic anxiety that the country was experiencing in addition to how an object, idea or piece of art is deemed "authentic". 43 minutes.
