Autumn-Winter 2014 Presentation
New York Fashion Week
Angel Orensanz Foundation
The theme that Seco has chosen for his current creations in the Kennedy era of the 60s. "I took the A-line silhouette that Jackie liked so much and turned it into a masculine, urban chic style that her son John-John would have worn," the designer explains. "The Kennedy style is an American style. A lifestyle trend that is relevant today and timeless."
PASTELS FOR FALL
The colors chosen by this Latino designer are somewhat unusual as they would more likely appear on a Spring stage. However, Seco uses Jackie's favorite pastels in shades of baby blue, lilac and pink and combines them with wintery shades of navy, gray and New York's staple...black.
PUT A SHAPE ON IT
The A-line shape is achieved by putting oversize coats, jackets and sweaters over classically tailored, skinny-cut pants and Bermuda shorts. Fall fabrics include cashmere, wool, leather, suede and cotton. For street appeal, Seco has collaborated with New Balance and to accessorize his line with sneakers that match colors highlighted in the collection. This season Seco has also collaborated with the recycled cashmere company, Greppo on six different pieces, including a sweater, scarf and leggings.
