In this session we are super-duper excited to welcome Katie Kett of Katie Kett Photography to the show.
Katie is a Chicago-based portrait & wedding photographer that focuses on candid, natural photography. She started her business in 2010. For the first few years she ran the business as a side hustle while working a full time job and finally took the leap into doing photography full time May 2013. What she loves most about photography is it's ability to tell a story about people and relationships at various stages of life. Katie captures emotion and strives to create meaningful images for her clients.
Jess met Katie back in 2010, when they attended a photography workshop together. Jess recalls feeling so intimidated by her because her photography was amazing, and at the time, she honestly didn't feel like she even belonged at that workshop.
We are stoked to have her on the show today, sharing about what it's been like making the leap into full-time photography. As well as the challenges that she's had to overcome to get to where she is today: happy and shooting (a lot).
More specifically, in this session you’ll find out about:
How do you prepare to make the leap into full-time photography?
How she used social media to launch your business into a full-time gig
How to shoot for convergence, for your client, for you, for publications
Why you should be creating your packages based on what you value, instead of what the clients thinks they value
