Each year, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) brings area second graders to the top of Aspen Mountain for an ACES Ed field program to learn about animals adaptations to winter and snow science.
In addition to snow shoeing in the forest, the students visit the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol for a fireside snow-safety chat and avalanche rescue demonstration.
