A scene of daily life in Middle Egypt, shot in April 2013.
Far from the turmoil of Tahrir Square, we witness here the routine that takes place every morning at sunrise, in a traditional countryside village.
Passing in front of a window, people go to work in the fields, bringing along their children, or taking cattle to graze. They share all sorts of means of transport, from donkeys to motorbikes, or carts. The domes in the background are those of tombs at a local cemetery. In the foreground, two men having a chat are joined by a third, who arrives on his donkey. Their greetings are formal and codified, seeming strange in this bare environment.
