I entered the digital shorts programme with screen west midlands before they were re-branded following cuts to the Arts fund. I had this idea since University took me nearly three and a half years to develop this from script to screen. Despite my best efforts I didn't win the funding that screen W.M were offering, however I did score 15/20 which I thought was good for my first try. So not to be out done I decided I would make this film anyway. So Pre-production started August 2006 and the film was finished December 2009. The film is about a possible and not too distant future where a teenage boy living in a flat has everything he needs at the touch of a button to the point where he is very lazy and overweight. As this comfortable life he has experienced has made him that way. All is fine until the mainframe computer that controls everything in his world goes haywire, the character is then thrust into an uncertain, changed environment where he has to learn the basics of survival thus becoming more of a human being. Liken it as a step back to a caveman in an unrecognizable futuristic space. Once I had finished the film I sent it off to various festivals and has luck would have it I was contacted by Animated Encounters, Bristol in which the film would be shown not as a main film but in a screening library. This was a great achievement considering the long hours both me and my sound producer had put into this film.
