The CCC Movement:
All 50 states, the District of Columbia, 7 tribal groups, and 7 U.S. Associated Pacific Islands/territories have now established Comprehensive Cancer Control programs, plans, and coalitions. The CCC programs identify and address opportunities for reducing cancer risk, improving access to quality treatment, and improving quality of life for cancer survivors. CCC coalitions are comprised of community leaders, experts, and advocates from all sectors that work collaboratively to develop and carry out cancer plans. To date, measurable improvements in risk reduction, treatment access, and quality of life have been achieved through coalition efforts.
Realizing the Potential of CCC Coalitions through Strategic Alliances:
To C-Change, CCC coalitions represent a major force for change at the state and local level. In complementary efforts and through the CCC National Partnership, C-Change continues to support coalitions by providing training, technical assistance, tools, and resources that leaders can adapt and apply in a manner that is unique to their needs and culture.
The full potential for CCC coalitions can be realized with greater participation by leaders from all three sectors. CCC Coalitions offer an opportunity for strategic alliances to advance CCC plan goals that are aligned with the mission and business objectives of coalition partners.
