Sin is the main problem for worship. The emphasis in this lecture is on how unconfessed and therefore unforgiven sin prohibits participation in praise, teaching, and worship. Transitions must be made from the ritual of the sanctuary for today, but the principle remains the same. People are to praise with holy hands. As Tozer says, the last thing the Lord wants is a group of carnal Christians bragging on him.
Second in a series of six lectures in which Dr. Ross addresses music, singing, liturgy, and worship as illustrated and revealed in the Psalms. Building on the foundation of a particular Psalm, further insight is gained from other passages in both the Old and New Testaments, culminating in the derivation of principles for practice in worship today.
