A driver looking for his way in Damascus,
a mufti merrily betraying himself,
soldiers dancing with their weapons,
a man wishing he could grieve for his father,
a woman laughing in front of a bearded man in combat pants,
children whose eyes have been clouded over by horror.
Such are some of the fragments of history that cinema
can show opposite the stream of current events
that continue to present Syria as a "Land of Evil".
