Rowdy Ridge was a camp for survivors of domestic abuse and/or drug addiction. It gave these children a week away from Los Angeles and a place to play and grow.
Stoney Westmoreland, Paul Preston, Tennessee Westmoreland, Sam Arnold and I spent a week with these kids and their Mothers. (Many of whom hadn't seen each other in a long time because they removed from their homes by DCFS.) The original documentary was edited by Eric Barker.
We shot over 100 hours of footage and condensed it down to twenty-minutes for "The Children of Rowdy Ridge". This version has just a few of the moments these campers shared with us in that week.
