In this short version of a documentary that follows French Grafiti artist 'Roti' as he works on his most ambitious project to date, we get a glimpse of an untold side story in Ukraine's revolutionary struggle.
Inspired by the ideals of the revolution and by a vibrant artistic scene that he encountered on previous visits to Ukraine, Roti decided to gift Maidan with its first piece of consequent, and permanent, revolutionary art.
Completely funding the project himself, Roti took just 12 days, with almost no sleep, to sculpt a 4 tonne marble statue symbolising Ukraine as it emerges from its past - and frees itself from a regime that has kept its people from breathing for far too long.
The sculpture was deposited 'illegally' on Maidan during Orthodox Christmas celebrations on January the 7th - and was accompanied by the singing of up and coming Ukrainian ban - and themselves a symbol of the revolution; The Dark Daughters.
