The Food Radiation Scanner is a household appliance that helps health conscious people in radiation effected areas (e.g. Tokyo) to find out if local food is safe to consume. And It does so in a friendly and empowering way. The main benefits of a household appliance is to a higher precision and lower scanning times.
This product concept was realised in a two week Sound Design project in a collaboration between the Umeå Institute of Design master programmes Advanced Product Design (Jost Siebert, Peter Alwin) and Interaction Design (Mady Torres and Kevin Gaunt).
