The UK government is planning to introduce more charges for foreigners to access healthcare whilst they visit the country.
The current scheme has been accused of being ‘flawed’ and this is one of the measures suggested to recover costs.
People outside of the EU, staying for up to five years, or those who have a visa for six months or more, would face an annual charge.
Short term visitors will also be charged for non-emergency appointments.
