An interactive installation by Maria Teresa Gavazzi with a soundscape especially designed by Riccardo Spina, filmed by Tomaso Cariboni. 14th February 2014 at Herrick Gallery, London.
Visitors were each given a pair of earplugs and invited to embrace one of the fourteen large white balloons suspended in the gallery. The soundscape was experienced reverberating through their bodies, the air in the balloons vibrating like the sound box of a musical instrument.
The soundscape included a beating heart, the roaring of the sea, black birds singing, explosions of laughter, excerpts of music and broken words - conjuring a totally immersive atmosphere, muffled and pulsing deep inside the sounding board of each person in the room.
