A reportage in TRAINS was the impetus to book a winter trip on The Canadian. A shorter train, fewer tourists and, if the weather cooperates, a winter wonderland along the line.
From the grazing lands around Kamloops to Jasper's Rockies it was a very nice trip. Due to VIA's scheduling it was a three day adventure. Started on Wed Feb 19th which left all of Thursday and a good portion of Friday to shoot more stuff at Jasper.
Friday's return trip was delayed by a few hours since CN Rail is apparently of the opinion that freight outranks passenger traffic at all times.
