In May last year, The Australian Homestay Network saw Australians open up their homes to refugees on bridging visas.
The initiative offered short-term accommodation to eligible refugees leaving immigration detention.
But the programs recent demise paired with the Government’s new boat deterrence policy suggests that for Australians, the Asylum Seeker problem is becoming out of sight and out of mind.
