So every day on my way to work in St. Louis, MO, I'd drive down Grand Blvd. Ten minutes from St Louis University and the broadway shows at the Fox Theater, you get to the crack houses and abandoned buildings on the same street. In the heart of that same area, are families selling their old baby strollers and bikes at a weekly yard sale, and right on one corner is this awesome park. Right along the busy street there is an outdoor skating rink that to me is a stage. Although it's almost always empty, when there were people there, it was a beautiful mix of teenagers in love just looking for a place to make eyes at one another past their parents' view, little kids stumbling along in their new skates, and over-the-hill married couples and solo riders gettin down to their favorite soulful oldies. Just across from one of the most dangerous territories of the country, was this little quiet haven where people come to feel good.
