The video captures the quality of a space being used on a regular day. It is shot in a way that its architecture characteristics are highlighted, the materials used and the way its elements articulate with each other, and the geometry formed by the thin subtle lines of every 'operation'.
It is shown in slow motion so the viewer can dedicate the time to understand and locate the subject on each level of the stair, the views it has, and how that narrative in continuous loop gives the sensation of a never-ending journey supported by a vertical element that draws the eye attention to a 'source point'.
I tried to balance our understanding of depth and scale by having 'temporary' subjects that move a long the scene in colors that contrast or blend with the foreground.
It was shot at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, MA. in February 2014.
