"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." - T. S. Eliot
mountains, cloud forests, coastlines, mangroves, river valleys, rain forests - you ran it all.
You ran fiercely, pushing yourselves beyond what many of you probably thought possible, and yet each day you toed the next days start line with a smile and genuine enthusiasm. I am deeply impressed, honored and humbled to have witnessed this.
Perhaps some of you gained strength during your journey while others gained wisdom. I hope you all had an opportunity to grow of and gain a keener understanding of how we rely on one another and how much bonding happens when reaching so high and digging so deep.
Sharing this much of yourselves in such a unique setting cannot help but leave its mark on you. Having drawn strength from one another and overcoming challenges is surely fertile ground for forming lasting friendships.
The camaraderie I saw on display each day heartened me and reminded me once again why we work so hard to produce this event each year. I would like to thank each of you for choosing to participate in The Coastal Challenge, for becoming a part of our community being a part of that experience.
