You need to treble into the ring. Watch the video to see what I mean.
Basically, it goes like this...
You've chain stitched up 3 from the ring of 8 chain stitches that you formed in the previous lesson.
Now you need to hook your free yarn over, poke your hook into the ring (with the yarn over it) and then yarn over again. The hook then is pulled back through the ring (with the yarn over it) and you will have 3 loops on your hook.
Hook your Yarn over again. So there are now 4 loops on your hook. Pull the top (up near the hooky bit) loop through/under the next two loops. You now how 2 loops on the hook.
Yarn over again. 3 loops on the hook at this stage. Now pull the top (up near the hooky bit) loop through the bottom two loops. You'll now be back to only one loop on the hook. And THAT is a treble stitch!
Kinda long winded, huh?! We'll make another in the next video!
Treble Stitch in a Nutshell. Yarn over. Into the ring. Yarn over. Pull hook back out of ring to the front. Yarn over. Hook top loop through next two loops. Yarn over. Hook top loop through bottom two loops. Done!
