George Hofstetter was one of the few students of color at his private middle school. He and his friends often felt singled out. So, at the Black Male Achievement hackathon in Oakland, they built a social networking website for black private school students.
"The website is connecting people who actually understand what you're going through," says Hofstetter, who is now an eight grader at John Muir Middle School, in San Leandro.
