On the shores of Patagonia in Argentina, lives a colony of Sea lions and their pups. The pups frolic in safe pools formed by a rocky reef but when the tide rises, the Killer Whales target the now accessible pups. Brothers Mel & Bernard, are two male Killer Whales with tall dorsal fins. They try to remain inconspicuous as they launch their attack on the pups as they need to eat about 3 pups a day to live. Precise judgement is needed if they are to be successful and avoid injury themselves so much is at stake. Killer Whales are our favourite animals of all time & we were in awe witnessing this drama as it unfolded We felt sorry for the pups of course but realized that without this food the Killer whales would not themselves survive.A Co-production between the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, National Geographic and Turner Broadcasting.
