A stop-motion animation shot in 25fps. This was a collab video with Jasmine Parker. Our idea was to portray a drug-induced synthetic synesthesia vision. We looked at the Poem 'Kubla Kahn' by Samuel Coleridge - it was written after he came out of an opium trip and what he saw was so vivid he had to write it down. We overlaid this poem into our soundtrack, (music Prisms by 65daysofstatic, edited for our video), and wanted to finally create this image of 'Xanadu' that he was talking about. Xanadu was supposedly a metropolis in outer mongolia, so we used imagery from there to create our landscape (what is shown at the end of the video). In the lead-up, it is supposed to show the journey of the soundwave, mixing in with the opium, to create this synthetic vision of xanadu. We used imagery reminiscent of opium and also our actual waveforms from the soundtrack to portray this.
