Professional Profile of Iqbal Tareen
Mr. Tareen was born on January 3rd in Shikarpur, Sindh. He graduated from MUET (Former Sindh University Engineering College, Jamshoro) in 1971 majoring in Electrical Engineering. He has post graduate certificate in Business and Administration from Harvard University, has MBA from California Coast University. He has completed various post graduate diplomas in Telecommunication, Computer Programming and Management.
Mr. Tareen took up a teaching assignment at Dawood College of Engineering & Technology in 1974. In 1977, Mr. Tareen left Dawood College and joined Advertising industry as an Account Executive. During 1976 and 1982 he worked for leading ad agencies and also owned and operated Ad agency in Karachi, between 1979 and 1982. In 1982 he left Pakistan for higher studies in USA.
Mr. Tareen has 30 plus years of middle and senior management experience in USA. He held heavy operational and management responsibilities extending into multiple states in information technology, hospitality, retail, and petroleum industries. Since last 18 years, Mr. Tareen has been involved in telecommunications and Information Technology industry managing solutions development and delivery to US Federal Government and Fortune 500 companies including US Homeland Security, NASA, NIH, US Immigrations and Customs Services, Custom and Border Protection, US-VIST, USDA, Verizon, AT&T, WebMD, Halliburton, Noble Petroleum and others.
Currently Mr. Tareen is Sr. Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Partnership at SOFTWARE CONSULTANTS, INC. (SCI Group) based in Washington, D.C. metro area. His corporate development and customer facing responsibilities span across USA and abroad.
