As the oldest sibling in Moses' family, Miriam began taking charge when Moses was just a baby. Her tendency to lead continued into her adult life, and into Moses' leadership, sometime accompanied by jealousy. We learn much from Miriam's mistakes and successes.
Leaders with the skills Deborah possessed are hard to find. Deborah appears to have been even-tempered, wise, and discerning. As she led the nation of Israel, she continually diverted any praise back to God. Her example is still one of the greatest in history.
