Live at REDCAT Theater. The performance was the culmination of a year long project engaging a broad range of people, from street musicians to
developers and city officials, in envisioning the future of downtown. Can one person's utopia be another person's dystopia and still be worthy of the name utopia? The
show's narrative included material developed from the 15 cast members, public documents and material imagined and written by director Malpede. Kevin Michael Key's monologue addressed an LA Times article in which a reporter interviewed him about his recovery. While working on this show we began to articulate the importance of Skid Row as a recovery community in LA and in the US.
